The good and bad. The hopes and disappointments. The excitement and boredome.
It's all here! Well, as long as I'm feeling diligent enough to write things down ;)

COUNTDOWN : 6 days to go...

Posted on Monday 15 October, 2007
FINALLY we have souvenirs. Last Saturday I met up with Ms. Melody from Fern Silver and paid down payment. I got Ultimate Solutions (which really IS the ultimate solution with my souvenir problem, heaven-sent!!) and got perfumes as giveaways. A bit expensive but at this point one week before the wedding I don't have much choice and they are soo nice to accommodate me so I can have souvenirs. YAY!!! 10 Ganda points for them! Plus they will have the souvenirs delivered straight at Linden's front desk on Saturday night so no worries about picking it up from the shop.

I have also discussed some more details with Linden. Just the table arrangements and seating plan for the guests to work on, and additional decors. Program and music, will be done tomorrow...

Invitations arrived last saturday and we have started giving them out to some immediate relatives and friends. I also made wedding etiquette and map guide insert. My sister and cousins helped me with the cutting of the paper. I'm not yet done, I still have around 40 to work on. I plan to finish tomorrow before working on our candles.

The misalette, I gave the job to Tim for typing and printing. But I will be the one to make the cover design and print at home. Then on thursday, Tim and his siblings will put all the pages together. Afterwards, we will note instructions on the entourage's misalettes.

Wedding gown, fitting tomorrow afternoon and on Wednesday, pick-up of the entourage dresses. WOOO!! The flower girls' dresses are sooo cute! Especially on the small ones! They look like star flowers... I want one too!! If only Cozy can wear dresses like that right now I'd so order another made for her!! It's sooo adorable!! *squeeze* Even the bridesmaids and secondary sponsors' dresses are wonderful too! I never realized my design and color motif can accentuate each of my ladies' curves *hohuumm!* and hid all those unnecessary excesses in the body hahaha XD

My parents arrived from the US yesterday and there are still a lot to talk about and settle. We will be buying their attire for the wedding tomorrow... so I better get rest now. Gyah I'm so toxic already! @_@

It's October already!!!

My how days pass by so quickly. It's only 15 days until our wedding day... but it was just like yesterday when we began with our preparations... the joys, excitement, frustrations and disappointments. About a month ago, I was feeling a little panic thinking there are still major stuff in the checklist that needs to be settled right away, but once again, intuition had told me not to worry. Because there really is nothing to worry about. Things will fall into place at the right time. Two weeks. In just two more weeks I'm finally changing my name - but no not my mind. Yeah I'm sure now.

Anyway, here are the major updates we've had so far...

Reception (Linden Suites) - paid 50% downpayment. discussed color motif, guestbook, cake design, decorations, table arrangements, and complimentary room details. To follow: Bride&Groom table set design, music & program, names of principal sponsors.

Church (Don Bosco Parish) - paid reservation fee; finished canonical interview and seminar; submitted document requirements; submitted misalette for approval. To follow: Wryan's confirmation certificate.

Photography (Ultravision) - paid booking fee; done pre-nuptials; chosen binder color; signed contract. To follow: 50% downpayment, pick-up of pre-nuptial CD and Thank You Cards.

Attire

BRIDE (Lita's Dress Shop) : Done first fitting yesterday; bought high heels, tiara, jewelries (courtesy of Wryan's mom), and extra change of dress for reception. To follow: flat shoes for reception, lingerie, gown, pouch bag.

GROOM : None yet. To follow: Tuxedo, socks, shoes, cuff-links, other accessories.

GROOMSMEN : Some already owns a suit, no problem. Some are still going to rent.

BRIDESMAIDS/USHERETTE/FLOWER GIRLS : Some of them are going to pick up their dresses tomorrow. Some are still going to get their measurements taken.

PRINCIPAL SPONSORS : Informed of their attire already.

Stationeries

Save the Date Bookmarks (DIY)
- printed and packed, began giving out to some guests.
Invitations (The Wedding Library) - done quite a number of (unnecessary) proof-reading. Kasi naman, we already sent them through email in Word format the exact layout with fonts we wanted, plus tons of notes. Then they'll send us proofing with wrong spellings and some fonts had been changed. It happened 3x. -_-
Misalette (DIY) - submitted to the church for approval.
Maps (DIY) - to be edited and printed.
Wedding Etiquette Guide - to layout and print.
Entourage Duties and Instructions - to be printed and handed out.
Thank You Cards (Ultravision) - from the pre-nup. Undelivered yet.

SOUVENIRS (Linda Bautista) - still waiting for their mock-up sample of the heart pillows I'm going to order. Souvenirs for principal sponsors, ordered already (Linden Suites). To follow: Souvenir back-up idea, gifts for parents, gift for spouse.

Ceremonial Items

Unity Candles - provided by Don Bosco. To follow: Secondary sponsors candle and offertory candles (DIY)

TO DO AND SETTLE

Wryan's Confirmation certificate
Misalette
Ceremony Musical Score
Reception Musical Score and Emcee
Reception Program
Reception table arrangements for guests
Bridal Car - for confirmation
Miscellaneous Items
Gifts
Registries - if still possible
Cake Topper
Confirm all attending guests

HAAAAYYY... still a lot to do. I'm starting to get a bit crammed already thinking I only got around 13 days to work on these things. I still have to discussed through with all the details to Kim for the wedding day and give checklists and stuff. Na na... things will go well. Yesterday I dyed my hair (again!) into a more natural brown-black. It's for the wedding and the Trash the Dress Shoot on Monday (which is tomorrow, already 1:16am my time). I already rented out a wedding dress for that, added a few stuff to it and adjusted the fit a bit more. Also bought shoes to match the design I made, nah, just an ukay-ukay pair of shoes - a rare find because there's hardly my size on ukay-ukays. So there, limit the eyebags and stress lines... smile smile!!

Lightheaded,

Slow but surely...

Hmmm... what have we accomplished? Just 31 days to go until our wedding day and we are now trying to do a lot of things as much as we can. We still have to order our invitations (the entourage list was finalized just last week) and souvenirs (finally agreed on the item - still looking for suppliers). And then settle the bridal car, make the reception program, maps, misalettes and have them printed... SO MANY THINGS!! But if there's one thing, it sure is so much fun doing all these :)

So far, we have been filing documents for the church and marriage license requirements. On September 28, I will be having my Confirmation. After that, our church requirements are complete! And then submitting our CENOMAR and claiming our marriage license to go YAY! ^_^

I also have a scheduled Trial Make-Up in Pasig, and our studio pre-nuptial shoot hihi... sounds so much fun! It's been long since I was on camera... I feel a little shy and nervous on how my face would look like in the pictures... ahh I better start practice smiles and poses and outfits! LOL ~_^

Today, we will be making confettis, to pass time... I was to print STD's but the papers I bought wasn't good enough... will buy new ones tomorrow after claiming our CENOMAR copies at the NSO Office in QC.

Enthusiastic,

A Church At Last!!!!

Posted on Monday 3 September, 2007
St. John Bosco Parish

We were finally able to get a church and on our date too!! It's in Don Bosco Chapel - St. John Bosco Parish. We have scheduled canonical interview on Wednesday, and are on the process of submitting/filing documents required both for the church and the marriage license. That is happy happy for us! :)

Last Saturday I went with Tita Lita to Divisoria to buy fabric for the gown and dresses. Boy, I missed shopping and staying at the fabric shop was like... heaven! There are just so many colors and in different textures!! <3 I still have to get my measurements though and I will go to her shop on Friday for it and for the Bridesmaids' fabric. Some of my bridesmaids will be having their dresses made near them where it will be most convenient for them. So far I already had two bridesmaids with their measurements taken. The rest are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.

Drained but happy,

Progess!

Posted on Monday 27 August, 2007
Okay so far we still don't have a church booked yet... panicking? Not so much as the first few days I've learned about it. We still have a list of churches to ask. It had become difficult, that most churches we've asked don't hold Sunday weddings. Aren't weddings done on Sundays ba talaga? O.O *clueless*

We also got to visit one of the Ninangs, Tita Lita, who is also my couturier :) She is my high school best friend's mom. I felt a little stupid forgetting all about her mom being a couturier *slaps forehead* I was able to get a discount for my gown *yay!!* and had the quotation for my Bridesmaids' dresses as well. The only little concern is that, her shop is based here in Bulacan, therefore my Entourage have to come here if they want their dresses done cheaply, but they still have the option to have it made in their local dressmakers. The happy thing about having their dresses made here is that I can personally check on them anytime. Tita Lita's shop is only 10mins away from our house :D

Anyway, website updates.... finally had most of the pages up!

Happy,

Website almost done!

Panic!!

It's just one month and four weeks to go before our wedding and there had been so many slip-ups along the way. We haven't practically accomplished anything at the moment yet - except booking the reception and the photo-video coverage services. We lost our church, still looking for available ones for our date and it seems that we might move our wedding date *cry* :'( Because of this, we also couldn't get the invitations done yet or send out STDs. Our entourage is missing some members. I haven't decided on souvenirs. I haven't found a couturier to make our dresses. And there are still legal documents we need to file. *sigh* But I believe very much that all will be done in good time. :)

Anyhoo... I've updated a lot in the website, yep yep feeling mighty happy for it! :D *yay* Just a few more pages to fill and it's all gewd!~ There will be a lot of events this coming weeks... getting things done and running.

Workaholic,

Oh! An update yay!

Posted on Friday 3 August, 2007
YAY for updates!

Although I am very much aware of the fact that I am making very slow progress... but yeah.. yeah, one step at a time. I'm happy, I don't know why but I just am :) I feel kinda... free XD Anyways, I was able to make our monogram - finally!~ and decided on the color motif - finally!~

Monograms = can be found at the stationeries page or what I call now, "A Crib of Paper" unless I change it again ^.-

Color Motif = can be found at the welcome page or the "Moonlight Serenade" page for now. Gee.. ang arte ko pala sa naming ng pages ko wahahah!!

That's it for now. Next to work on: STD, Invitation designs, and the gown/dresses study for the entourage.

Excited and flushed,

A Week's Worth of Silence

Posted on Wednesday 25 July, 2007
88 days to go before our wedding... *yawn*

Weeelll.... I was such a bed-slave for a week that I wasn't able to do ANYTHING at all. I'm also having the "baby-is-coming-soon" anxieties...Gaaahh!! Just a few weeks to go! The doctor said Cozy is due around the 19th of August. It also didn't help that I feel like my efforts in preparing for the wedding is unappreciated. It seems that I make the weirdest and craziest ideas. Then came this little problem with the photo and video coverage budget. I'm gonna have to do some negotiations with my parents and Tim's for it. * sigh*

But hey! I got updates!! :D I won't be posting anything if there weren't anyway haha!~

I decided to have "Wedding Elements". These are the overall design of the wedding will have these especially for the invitations, souvenirs, cake toppers, ceremonial items etc... They are SILVER, CRYSTAL, MOON, STARS, HEARTS.

Color Motif. I went online to look for fabric swatches, particularly in silk, satin and chiffon. Hopefully I can finalize the color motif by tomorrow or friday - yay! By the way, I'm thinking of making two selections to choose from.

On a side note, those anybody know what kind of fabric is used on the dresses worn by the Case Girls in Kapamilya: Deal or No Deal? I want something like that for the entourage so they can wear the gowns again on some other occasions. My gown will obviously be made of silk but I'm still hoping to find a fabric that isn't shiny.

Gowns. Finally chosen the gown references for the entourage and modifications:

Flower Girls = Venus - balloon skirt

Maid of Honor = Jupiter - smaller rose or beaded design on the skirt
Mothers of the Bride & Groom = Mars - no choker
♥ Bridesmaids = Neptune - with chiffon lining under the slit and flowing chiffon choker
Secondary Sponsors = Neptune - same but with a long ribbon string wrapped around the waist, no choker
Principal Sponsors = they're free to wear whatever they want as long as it follows the motif

Notes: I will be posting the designs here next week. I have to draw the modifications pa, also helpful when I go to the couturier to have them quoted.

Trivia: I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to browse through my only bridal magazine reference to look at gown styles I can use as reference to all the dresses above. HAHAAAA!! I saw a pattern for Serenity, Queen Serenity, Neptune and Mars gowns!!! Especially Mars', it was exactly the same design with the pleats in front but in white XD

Couturier. Contacted one couturier for a quote on Serenity's Gown. I will follow up with an email with all the complete instructions and modifications, the entourage's gowns, and the ceremonial items. Hopefully they have a package and can make my gown 1 month!

Wedding Coordinator. Made a long list instructions for Kim as wedding coordinator about SSJ, Linden, photo/vid coverage, gift registries, souvenirs, invitations, missalettes, decorations etc. I gave her a copy of my wedding workbook. I hope to hear some feedbacks by end of this week. What do you guys know about GIFT REGISTRIES?

Souvenirs

♥ When Tim and I were talking about souvenirs, he told me of Kim's idea of a keychain with silver hearts. I already asked Kim about it, how much each would cost and if it is also available in Moon and Stars. I'm thinking maybe we can change some of the hearts into moon and stars and maybe we can add a few white crystal beads and/or charm bells. But this souvenir, obviously are for girls only lol!

Another idea came to mind are crystal glasses and have them personalized either a moon with 2-3 stars or our names designed on them. I just don't know how much it would cost though XD This one is for uni-sex giveaways.

Bunnies!!! haha lol, actually Tim liked the bunnies. It is perfect for the theme but the problem is that we can't impose a bunny on someone who doesn't take care of bunnies or other animals. Imagine that would be like, a hundred bunnies in the reception venue!!! O.O

Confetti. What paper is good to use for confetti? Those kinds that floats longer in the air. Are palara or those shiny paper plastic (silver)? How about Japanese paper? I want to start making confetti's now!!!

Invitation Designs. Yeah, yeah I will work on them so Tim's dad can finally send them to the shop for printing. Aguu... there's just so much to think about.

Entourage / Guest List. Half-way done. I encountered a problem with choosing the people to invite. I have such an extended family relations and I can't seem to fit them all. I'm only allowed 60 guests on my side. It's pretty tough decision especially balancing those I "have" to invite and those I "want" in my wedding. Well, I'm hoping to get through with this as soon as possible... I'm running out of time! *gasp*

There, there... I can't panic yet haha... so during in and outs of mental blocks, I'm gonna try updating some pages here.

Feelin' lucky,
~Dukesa
